We had a breakthrough with Lucy!! She finally laid an egg!!! It's an odd shape, oblong and little dent on one side😅 But she's so happy, I'm so happy, we're all HAPPY!

A little history of Lucy: She wasn't doing well since she moved to our place. She had pasty butt, wasn't moving much, walked like a penguin, and hadn't laid an egg for months...and her rear was so huge! A fat chicken, we thought...

3 weeks ago she started going down the hill and I seriously thought I have to put her down. After much research, I determined that she was egg bound, all her symptoms matched...

So what did I do?!?! Gave her Epsom salt bath and olive oil enema, TWICE!! And it worked! She started eating more, walking normal, the puffiness on her rear disappeared, and top of all that, she's so energetic!

So happy to see her doing well, and the question came up..."Where is her egg??" I've been looking everywhere but couldn't find any for days. I was ready to follow her all day to find out where she's doing her business...then she did it, finally! even used the laying box! There the oddly shaped egg was found🤣

Egg bound is a serious issue and if untreated it'll be fatal one. I'm so glad I wasn't too late to treat her. I wish I had a picture of her before the treatment because she looks like a totally different chicken now. She's the smallest of three and prettiest one ever!
